Clastic dikes form when unconsolidated sediments are forced upward into overlying sediments by the weight of the accumulating sediments. Some clastic dikes intrude into layers supposedly many millions of years younger, indicating that the underlying sediments remained unconsolidated for unexpectedly long periods of alleged time. Major tektite falls in Australia in strata as young as 5700 years old according to radiocarbon dating have called in question both the fission-track and the K-Ar methods of dating which assign these identical tektites an age of about 700,000 years. Published in Origins v. 3, n. 2.

The Third National Creation Science Conference offered much excellent material, but the creationist movement must set and follow the highest scientific standards and screen out questionable or needlessly controversial material if it is to gain the attention and full respect of sympathetic non-creationists. A review of two articles: On the Survival of Paleoforms, and The Tempo of Geomorphic Change. The scientific data of both papers indicate that much greater caution is warranted in approaching questions regarding the length of time involved in the past history of the earth. It may be surprising to some students of the Bible that the translation and meaning of the opening words of the Bible are disputed. For 2,000 years the first verse of the Bible has been officially translated into Western languages with the familiar words, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Now three authorized versions of the Jewish, Roman Catholic, and Protestant communities translate the first verse of the Bible differently.

The first three chapters of Genesis are of crucial importance for both the origins of our world and for determining relationships between man and woman. Without these chapters, any understanding of the mutuality between man and woman is impaired and one-sided.

The plural "let us" in the phrase "let us make man" in Gn 1:26 has a long history of interpretation, reaching into pre-Christian times. What does the plural "us" in this enigmatic phrase indicate?
