Research Interests

I am interested in studying large scale processes related to igneous rocks and plate tectonics. This involves working with large geochronology and geochemistry databases using data science tools like GIS and R. I have worked on the following research projects:

• Northern Peninsular Ranges batholith in Southern California: better understanding of subduction zone processes using multivariate analysis (principal component analysis) and spatial analysis.
• Peruvian Andes: using igneous bedrock and detrital zircon ages to characterize the magmatic history of the Peruvian Andes.
• Peruvian Andes: using geochemistry to understand why magmatism at continental arcs is episodic in nature.
• Zambia: characterizing the tectonomagmatic history of southern Africa using detrital zircons.
• American Cordillera: assembling a large database of igneous rock geochronology and geochemistry sample data over the 15,000 km long North and South American Cordillera data to facilitate future research projects.
