The Faith and Science Council of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists assists the Church and its institutions in studying and communicating biblical teachings regarding origins and their relationship to the physical world.

The Geoscience Research Institute is a constituent entity of the Faith and Science Council, together with the Biblical Research Institute, the Loma Linda University Department of Earth and Biological Sciences, the Theological Seminary at Andrews University, and General Conference leadership.
Services
The Faith and Science Council:
- Provides support for studies and scientific publications that are of significance for the biblical understanding of origins.
- Facilitates the training of professionals who embrace and promote the biblical view of origins as expressed in the Church’s Fundamental Beliefs.
- Selects and funds programs and resources that effectively communicate the biblical teaching on origins.
Development of Educational Resources
With a global perspective, the Faith and Science Council is actively involved in the production of a comprehensive range of educational materials, including books, comics, videos, and articles, designed for individuals of all ages. These resources provide engaging and thought-provoking insights into complex scientific concepts and the discussion of origins.

Funding
The General Conference provides an annual allocation to support Faith and Science Council projects. However, the majority of project funding comes from generous donors who share the Council’s vision. These contributions make it possible to expand its impact and support even more groundbreaking work.

Grant Applications
If you are interested in contributing to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to share the everlasting gospel of Revelation 14:6–7, the FSC invites grant proposals in the areas of scientific research and communication. The Council reviews submissions and funds a limited number of projects during its regularly scheduled meetings, held twice annually in April and October. Please note that proposals not directly related to the topic of origins will not be considered.
