Two Poster Presentations at the 10th Hutton Symposium on Granites and Related Rocks

Research partially funded by the Geoscience Research Institute was presented in poster format at the 10th Hutton Symposium on Granites and Related Rocks, held in Baveno, Italy – September 10-15, 2023.

The first poster, titled “A synthesis of the Peruvian Coastal Batholith: An exploration of temporal histories, causes of compositional diversity, and tectonomagmatic links in arcs,” was based on a recently published invited review paper that summarizes fifty years of studies in the granitic rocks along the foothills of the Peruvian Andes.

The second poster, titled “Episodic magmatism of the Peruvian continental arc,” presented a picture of the magmatic history of the Peruvian arc showing that the rate of magma emplacement into the arc over time is non-steady.
